Plan for next week (22/01/07)

We plan to...

Plan in detail out very first scene and film it. The complexity of our filming it is not great as it is quite straightforward. All we have to do is film some scenes from a computer and keyboard. Although, we assume that the editing that we will have to do to get the look that we want will take a longggggg time as we'll need to fasten the pace as well as make it correspond to the song that we will be using.

we also aim to...

Research and attempt to arrange an interview with an expert.

Exact timings have not yet been finalised as nothing has been finalised with the whole group. hopefully this will be sorted out by Monday's lesson!

Overall plan :

1) Plan and finish filming opening scene
2) Arrange interview with expert.

Research!
A documentary similar to ours is 'Addiction Advocacy'. It was produced by Voices Of Hope Productions on 22nd January '06. the target audience for this documentary is anyone who is addicted to alchohol, drugs etc-mainly teenagers but it also targets parents and family members of those who have lost someone because of addiction.I know this as these type of people are interviewed in the documentary. This documentary is probably shown on BBC1 as its main purpose is to inform , advice and educate should be shown after the watershed as that's the time that parents and youngsters watch documentaries.
The camera movement is slightly shaky in order to show its authenticity and also because it is filmed on a Advocacy Day event. There is no sound throughout the whole documentary in order to keep the focus on the issue and what the people are saying. The typical conventions it uses are interviews with experts and professionals and shaky camerawork.
We will be borrowing the following things from this documentary:
~ writing facts and statistics on the screen while the person is talking.
~ interviewing experts
~ interviewing people who have experienced the issue of the documentary.
~shaky camerawork.

Another documentary similar to ours is 'Parents and My Space'. This documentary interactive documentary is about the social networking site My Space and things parents should know about it. The target audience is parents as it directly aims to advice them about what to do if they have problems with their children using this site. It could possibly be shown on BBC1 as it informs and advices.
The typical documentary conventions include: a voiceover, interviews with professionals, facts and statistics and interactive/reflexive mode.
We will be borrowing the following features from it:
~ close up shots of the computer screen
~ interview with a professional
~ voiceover
~ advice to parents
~ My Space refusing to comment.
