Nikki Sahota - Homework 15/01/07

We've studied a documentary about Anorexia, which is efficient because the target audience for that documetary is similar to ours. The documentary about anorexia was fast-paced which is the pace we are looking at for our documentary.

The plan for the shoot is as following:-

An opening montage- which features the soundtrack of 'slashdotcom' by FatBoy Slim. This soundtrack was chosen because this soundtrack uses the same theme as our documentary.

- A reconstruction- this reconstruction is aimed to demonstrate to the audience that a teenage female is meeting up with a paedophile. This reconstruction will also have a voice-over of the conversation the teenager had with the paedophile on the internet, in an echo- effect. This will portray an eerie effect. There will also be non-diegetic sound of keyboard tapping. This will emphasise that a computer is being used in the conversation between the teenager and paedophile.

- An interview with the victim- This interview will be shot as a silouhette of the female teenager victim. This is a typical convention of documentary style interviews. In this interview, the teenager will create an atmosphere of regret and fear. These emotions are intended to over-power our target audience.

- Ending scene- montages of various chatroom websites, with a voice-over summarising the awareness of internet use for teenagers and also mentions of positive internet comments.

Other desicions include:
-statisics to have a factual base
- real-life examples used

To summarise aims of our documentary, we want to make our primary target audience aware of unknown dangers within the internet and we also aim to make our secondary audience (parents) more aware of what could be going on behind their backs online. We want our documentary to be serious but not so serious that teenagers will think negative about the internet.
